Inclusive Education, Colombian Sign Language, and English Language Learning in Digital Environments
My research focuses on inclusive education for Deaf students who use Colombian Sign Language (LSC), pedagogical mediation, and the design of accessible digital resources for English language learning.
I am particularly interested in understanding how educational technologies, when designed to address students' linguistic, visual, and cultural characteristics, can reduce barriers and support more autonomous learning. This research interest brings together fields that have consistently shaped my academic and professional experience: higher education, inclusion, Colombian Sign Language, English language teaching, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and Virtual Learning Objects (VLOs).
Making English visually accessible does not lower academic expectations. It makes those expectations fairer by providing a learning pathway that respects Deaf students' language, visual culture, and actual learning conditions.
