In my role as an academic advisor, I promote the understanding of the university's pedagogical model and the adoption of the study methodology, which includes training in the use of the virtual campus. Through the support I provide in the Cátedra Unadista course, I offer strategies and educational tools to foster autonomous, meaningful, and collaborative learning among students, both Spanish-speaking and sign language users.
Additionally, in coordination with the Inclusion Axis, I offer guidance and tutorial support to Deaf students in various courses, in collaboration with virtual course tutors, especially at the A1, A2, B1, and B2 levels of written English comprehension. I also provide pedagogical support to the teachers who work with these students, with the goal of promoting more effective inclusive education at the university.
80017 Catedra Unadista
The Cátedra Unadista is part of the Welcome and Onboarding Program for Freshmen, serving as the academic platform that welcomes first-time students. Its purpose is to provide strategies and tools for the adoption of autonomous, meaningful, and collaborative learning, in addition to teaching students how to learn in the open, distance, and virtual modalities. This course also offers the opportunity to participate in the initiatives of the Unadista Pedagogical Model, promoting the development of the Unadista identity by recognizing the mission and core values that drive comprehensive education, both in university life and academic endeavors.
This academic platform proposes the development of activities across five levels, in which students are provided with tools to build their own learning model. Through these levels, the capacities for self-management, self-determination, and self-regulation are identified and cultivated, in alignment with the university’s Pedagogical Model. The content is presented in accordance with this model, allowing students to explore a cutting-edge educational approach, recognize the evolution of distance education towards Generation 5.0, and understand the role of technologies as mediators in the educational process. Unadista authenticity stands out as an added value for students and future graduates, who are trained as transformative leaders with regional impact.
The Cátedra Unadista is guided by educators who assume both the roles of Academic Advisors and professors. These educators not only act as mediators in the course but also provide comprehensive support, responding to the specific needs of each student. Additionally, students participate in virtual meetings such as Web Conferences, CIPAS, and small group discussions, all aimed at fostering the recognition and adoption of the study modality, thereby promoting a successful academic process.
